Sweet photo.  Hey this brings up a question...are the basketball jerseys that the U sells going to have the same numbering issue that the football jerseys have. Just 2 numbers?

It's for all sports: "And the change isn't just for football, but for all sports that have jersey replicas for sale."

There are websites out there (at least there used to be) that sell replica jerseys where you can choose the number and name on the back.  My wife and I have specific numbers and our last name on the back for jerseys I bought a while back.  I chose 89 and she went for 13 (football, of course).  It's not through the university, but you can find them.

That's if the suppliers are still able to procure blank jerseys. That same article I posted has the following quote:

"We were understanding but a little discouraged," said Osborne, son of Tom. "We've had a good business of being able to provide custom number jerseys. We've bought a lot of blank jerseys and a lot of people like to put a number and their own name on it. So that was what most caught our attention. We wouldn't be able to do custom jerseys anymore.

So these suppliers might have to face either taking a risk and offering customization services to customers or risk litigation if the University or player wants to sue that merchant.

Put me down for 100 Sek Henry Terran Petteway Glynn Watson jerseys

Did Terrance Badgett have the #5 for a year?

Yes he transitioned from 43 to 5 didn't he?

Sure enough...his junior year he wore 5 and went back to #43 for his Senior year

My senior year of high school we put together an intramural basketball team called The Cream Team (though administration made us change it to The Dream Team because they didn't like the "cream" part).  We all picked a favorite Husker basketball player, but he had to be white (thus the double meaning of "cream" in the name).  I was Rich King.  A buddy was van Poelgeest.  It was awesome.  Our jerseys were made of some terrible material, though.  Not terribly comfortable.  The previous game's MVP got to wear an old Husker warm-up suit one of our guys had.

I think we won two games.  Maybe.

Sorry for the threadjack (again), but seeing van Poelgeest mentioned brought me back a bit.

I thought so CRAZY, I wish those were the Unis they wore all the time. Too many uniforms these days have so many bells and whistles they just look plain silly.

Yep, I agree.  That's one thing I love about Indiana's uniforms is they are very strict about not making changes to the design.  Just keep it classic and clean.

They have the best warmups in college basketball. The candy stripes.
