Huskerpapa
Not really sure where to put this, so I will simply slot it here and let Dimes direct it elsewhere if necessary...but learned that Jeff Schmahl just passed away. He was great at 10/11 sports and then brought character and innovation to UNL. An overall good guy...may he rest in peace. http://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/father-of-huskervision-jeff-schmahl-dies/article_efaf1543-2525-5941-9fc3-6d3425e61077.html Bugeaters1 and jaimes2000
swoof
So sad. Rushing home on Friday nights after football or basketball games to watch Jeff do the high school scores was part of growing up for me. Norm Peterson

AuroranHusker
Schmahl was a pro at whatever he did on earth. Extending his family our condolences. Bugeaters1

Norm Peterson
Jeff had a blog about his ordeal that he started when he got the diagnosis and I want to say it was posted on here. Maybe on the old board. I have to say he handled the public end of it with a lot of class and dignity. His surviving family members should be proud of the kind of person he was. jimmykc
Followed the blog from the start. I never met him but his honest writing showed that he faced his disease courageously and loved his family with all his heart. That is about all any of us should want to leave as a legacy. R.I.P. Mr Schmahl. cipsucks
Husker4Life
I had the pleasure of playing softball with Jeff. He played shortstop on our city team. What an outstanding person he was and will be missed.
