Jacob Hammond reflects on first year with Cornhuskers

Sounds like a well-grounded young man.  I did particularly take note of "looking forward to playing, being on TV and all that stuff" at the end.

An interesting way to put it, I suppose.  Seems this small town kid is looking forward to being on television. Kind of nice & refreshing that he isn't taking anything for granted, at least that's how I took it.

This was good to hear/read:

“It was great,” Hammond said. “The coaches there taught me a whole lot. I didn’t get to play (much) in games and stuff, but just being able to practice and learn from the older players. They really helped me and took me in.”

He said "and stuff" a lot.... HE LIKES STUFF!

That being said, He will be a key member on this team whether he is ready or not.

I hope he has school/sports figured out. It can be a lot to juggle.

Like Mr. "Technology And Stuff" from the World Series last year?

Hate to say, but that article was awful.

What's his current height and weight?

Where will he be spending his summer?

Is there an area where he feels his game has improved the most?

What does he think he needs to work on the most?

How does he feel about the team's chances this coming season?

Who does he compare his game to?

Stuff like that.

What'd you expect from a small-town rag?!?

That is stuff that the writer should have asked to maybe get some inside stuff.

When in college a package of those and a half gallon of milk would get me through the first half of Monday Night Football. Stick a whole cookie in your check and drink some milk through it so it get smooshy.

Pound bag of fried Cheetos and a 2 liter Mountain Dew for the second half.

GOD COULD I eat when I played football.
