I'd say there's probably 23 different combinations that could be used. No idea how I'll square by the season that starts in approx. six months.... safe bet to have Shavon Shields & Andrew White III as starters, though; Tai, Glynn, & Ed are next up on the "winning a job" odds.

I'm no Husker Actuary, but I'm guessing there's quite a bit more than 23 different combinations that could be used.

One open ship.  One kid sitting out as a transfer.  That leaves 11 different guys.  I'm not smart enough to figure out how many total combos that could generate.  Actuary!  I need your help!!!

(OK, just kidding.  Don't take me literally, Auroran.  I know you aren't going to field a lineup of Benny, Bakari, Glynn, Tai and Nick.  ...  But you could;) )

It's been a long time since I learned permutations and combinations. But if you have 11 players to choose from, the answer is 11! / (5! * (11-5)!) = 462.

If we're talking starting lineups, last year we had 8 different combos. The year before it was 4.

Yup, that's it.

The formula if you want to change your number of players is H!/((H-5)!(5!)) where H is the number of Huskers

Had to go there.  You lobbed me a softball.  Who am I to turn it down?

I still have faith that Hammond contributes a solid role next year.  I'm hanging on!

It would be a bonus if he could but I'm not holding my breath that will happen.  He would have to have a huge improvement from last year to make a solid contribution this year.  I sure hope he does but don't see it happening.

But, seriously, I would be beyond thrilled to get a kid like Noah Dickerson.  Maybe it's in the cards, maybe it ain't, but it's a tantalizing possibility either way.

PG  Watson

SG  Webster

SF  White

PF  Shields

C  Hammond

Given a hat tip to experience.  Lots of other possible options.  Realistic options.
