Glynn Watson video - "Ya'll seen this right?"

Day one starter, IMO... Saw in there a clip of him dunking it (relatively easy I might add) - didn't know he had those hops. Lots of his other clips seemed like he was pretty grounded.

We don't have a player like that, right? Benny doesn't bring that offensive ability and Norm has as good as handles as Tai (that's not a diss on Tai, Norms got mad handles, just not GW level).

If he doesn't start, I have to imagine he is gonna get every opportunity to show he can.

In all seriousness, the kid defends well and is an extremely good floor general.  I will be surprised if he is not playing valuable minutes from the start.  I have read articles  (many of them can be found in the recruiting page) where he may be one of the best "under the radar" kids, especially those coming out of Chicago.

Here is Norm shooting hoops in his back yard...

Whoa thought that me for a second, but then remembered I am not allowed outside without a shirt on, something about the glare causing planes to have trouble flying. I guess is is too bright for the pilots to see clearly and they are worried about going off course.:)

I'll be shocked if he isn't starting from day 1.  He didn't sign here to come sit on the bench.  I think Marrow will be a starter from the start of the season as well.

All kidding aside, I'm with kldm on this.  If Morrow doesn't start, he'll be among the first off the bench.  Kid has a motor that makes his 6'7" more like 7'6".

I'm of the camp that height doesnt have to be as important as some think. It's entirely possible that we could have a 7'1" guy who is serviceable, yet we would rather have Morrow on the floor instead. We need a collection of long athletic guys, some of whom can 'bang' down low a little, at least occupy the post position. I know this has been mentioned before, no knock on David Rivers, but we made a run to the tournament with David Rivers down low. Morrow will provide more 'bang' than Rivers ever could. From day 1.

I hope he is given the keys day 1 even if he's not 100 percent ready.  I doubt he is named the starter for the first game but I think he will eventually take it over.

Whomever they are, I'd like to see at least two freshmen crack the starting rotation.

Are you thinking that Mr. McVeigh and Mr. Jacobson ought not be counted out of the SL just yet?

I think Shavon and AW3 are the only starting locks and everything else is up for grabs.

Me too; I stated the same.

Lee Barfknecht has a story in today's Omaha World Herald on Glynn Watson--some great stuff!

Glynn describes himself as a pass-first point guard.  Here's a blurb from the article:

At a recent Husker workout, wing Andrew White was machine-gunning 3-pointers with hardly a miss. Afterward, as Watson met with a reporter, White stayed to hone his shot even more.

Watson nodded toward the Kansas transfer, wryly smiled and said: “I’m going to pass the ball to him a lot.”

Pass-first point guards are only effective if they have good shooters to support him. Petteway was also only effective if he (and his team) were good shooters. As long as White & Company are able to knock down their shots, we're going to put ourselves in a lot of positions that we had two years ago. If not, we're going to see much of last year. I'm excited to see which team shows up in November.
