3/4/15 @ Illinois Game Thread

Here is the Illinois message board game thread: http://www.illinoisloyalty.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=22324

Couple of notes gleaned from skimming over that thread.

1).  Illinois had announced this game is officially a sellout (although it appears that a few tickets still remain available for purchase online)

2).  The sellout is due in part to the AD making a large number of tickets available for free (!!!!) to students, so there appears there will be roughly 4500 students (or just over 1/4 of the total capacity) in attendance.  Expect a raucous environment tonight similar to the one we faced at URI early on in the season

Also, it's a little more than 106 miles from Champaign to Chicago, but here's to this scene playing out in the Husker team bus after we pull off the upset there on senior night!   ;)

I was thisclose to throwing up a Blues Brothers vid to start the thread!

At least the Huskers are,t the only team that GETS FU#$%^ BY THE REFS.

They are starting to try to outdo themselves for worst calls in the history of basketball.  There is NO explanation that does that call justice, except the fact the ref wanted to be the show.  There was no chance the Ohio State player could catch the offensive player, and Newbill might have slowed down, but it didn't affect the play.

I just wonder what it will take to get all of these guys that make these kinda of calls out of the profession?

I just watched it again, and that ref should be flat out fined and suspended for making that call.  Newbill didn't even block the Ohio State's player path to the player.  In fact the Ohio State player should have been called for a foul for pushing Newbill.

Yep, I'm surprised that the coach didn't go off on that call.
