Omaha is rocketing up the rankings, they've gained nearly 50 spots since we played them. Northern Kentucky has cracked the top 300, and Rhode Island is still looking like a reasonably quality loss. I think 4-2 from the next six is not an unreasonable expectation, with a halfway decent shot at 5-1.

I've seen a couple places that our projected SOS is top 10. Rpiforecast has it #9 right now and statsheet (I have no clue what theirs is based on) has it #2. That's a pretty stout schedule.

Lots of games involving NU opponents last night, so I thought it would be a good time to do a midweek KenPom update. So here goes.

Michigan State (5-3) moves up a spot with a loss to Notre Dame, Ohio State moves down. Cincinnati moves back in front of Creighton for the highest ranked non-con home opponent. Wichita State lost to Utah (KenPom #28) but remains in the top 10.

Holy crap. Northwestern is in free-fall mode. Just a couple of weeks ago, Northwestern was #75. They've dropped more than 50 spots since 11/19. Yikes. Who do you have to lose to in order to do that?

Speaking of runs at the bubble, I'm thinking the B1G gets, what, about 6 teams in this year?

That means we'd have to climb over about 5 other teams in the conference. That's a lot of climbing. Fortunately, there are 5 teams in front of us that aren't exactly juggernauts.

We can do it but we have to start winning a pretty high percentage of our remaining games.
