I'm not so sure on the comment that the Creighton STH's got first crack on these. I thought I read somewhere that the NCAA was going to do away with that method of ticket distribution and just handle all ticket sales for all venues on the same day via the same ticket vendor.

my buddy is a creighton alum and got his that way so Im just assuming since he is in his same season tickets seats for the NCAA tournament.

 

I tried finding more info and found this via Oregon's website when I googled season ticket holder NCAA tournament. So I'm guessing its still applicable.

 

Post Season Events hosted at Matthew Knight Arena

If Oregon is not invited to the NCAA Tournament and elects to host a post season tournament, when possible, men's basketball season ticket holders will have right of first refusal on their same season ticket location (including club access if applicable) within a priority ordering period. After the priority ordering period, the same seats and club access are not guaranteed. This is not applicable if Oregon does not participate in the tournament.

It'll be tough.  Omaha is the ONLY site west of Louisville, KY other than Portland/Seattle.  You're going to want to be a 4 seed at the minimum to feel like you have a better than average chance at getting sent to Omaha.

Not necessarily though.  What if Portland is hosting higher seeds than Omaha. Then they come out here and play because they are a higher seed which is better for the team to finally get that first NCAA win.  ;)

Teams that were kept close to home last year (roughly 3 hours drive):

1 - Florida (Orlando)

1 - Wichita (St. Louis)

1 - Virginia (Raleigh)

2 - Kansas (St. Louis)

2 - Wisconsin (Milwaukee)

3 - Duke (Raleigh)

3 - Syracuse (Buffalo)

4 - UCLA (San Diego)

6 - Baylor (San Antonio)

 

I may have missed a couple and a couple might be further than I think, but, point being, the Huskers are going to have to be really good to stay home, but if they finish where some think they can, at 2nd in the conference, if they do that, I think it'll be hard to keep them out of Omaha. And what a story and environment (and expensive ticket...) that would be!

The higher your seed, the higher chance you have to get home court advantage, but it's more finnicky than that. CU was a 2 seed last year and didn't go to St. Louis. It's hard to project this sort of thing in February, let alone before a single game of the season has been played

3 seed and you are correct about the higher you are the better the chances are.  Wichita and Kansas were easily more deserving of that location.

KSU and USC was a 8-9 matchup if I believe right or something close to that a couple of years ago.  Overall a higher seed helps but trying to place teams and opponents close together is key.  I think a 6 or 7 could be good enough depending on who makes it.  Either way, my life will be complete if NE gets a tourney win on the jays floor and if they advanced to the sweet 16, something the jays haven't done, would be the ultimate slap.

You're right about whoever else makes it. If we were the 3rd #1 seed behind Kansas and Iowa St we probably wouldn't be playing in Omaha. Rooting against all teams with a 200 mile radius should be no problem for us. :)
