And the storm knocked out my tv just as the Royals tied the game in the ninth. Oh well, at least I got more sleep that way. And since we are all O.T. here, how about anyone sharing any close encounters with Royals over the years. Despite living in KC for four years I hardly ever encountered them off the field. I did once nod to George Brett when he was getting a checkup after his hemorrhoid episode. And I got to hang out with Duke Wathan and Smilin Joe Randa in the Diamond Club one night. That's it for me. Surely someone here knows Gordon a bit. I hope they can keep it going against the Halos.

Shortly after Alex signed with the Royals, I saw him in Van Maur trying to figure out how to spend all that money.

So very happy for Kansas City, the Royals and all their fans. I've followed them since April 1969 when they took the field for the first time at old Municipal Stadium over on 23rd & Brooklyn and beat the Minnesota Twins 4-3 in their first game, then did it again the very next night in 17 innings beating Minnesota by the same 4-3 score.

I've been to playoff games in the 1970's at what was then known as Royals Stadium, I won't be able to attend any this year but I'll be glued to the TV and listening to Denny & Ryan on Royals Radio.

So let's go Royals......#TakeTheCrown!

Glad someone remembers the 23rd and Brooklyn stadium. I spent a lot of time there myself and once attended "Campy Campaneris" night when per Charles O.Finley orders he was allowed to play each position for one inning. Ended up losing the game for the A's (AKA Royals) but who cared?

Including the "small" dinger in the eleventh? Unfortunately I pooped out in the ninth and taped the rest. The tape unfortunately stopped before the game and I missed the deciding blow this morning. Don't you just hate these late night playoff games?

For the Royals' 2014 postseason, you might want to set your VCR to use EP

Small dinger is accurate...barely out, and an OUT in many parks!

GO ROYALS!
