No mention of Jack McVeigh, Michael Jacobson & Ed Morrow; no thought to consider that Isaiah Roby or Jeriah Horne might be really good, too. It is interesting to read outsiders' opinions, but it does appear to be 'too bleak' when fairly key cogs are not even mentioned other than as a collective group of inexperienced players. That's not too keen of an observation, even considering the outsider perspective of it all. Oh well. Time to prove it on the court, Nebrasketball.

No team returns more freshman-to-sophomore minutes than the Huskers, which is usually an indication that improvement is coming.

There will be preview for all the teams and it's not meant to be an all encompassing review.  Statistically speaking there isn't a reason to bring up those guys individually and no guarantee that any of them will all of a sudden become one of the top 2-3 players on the team.

I don't mean to sound so bleak, but it's hard to see this season as anything but yet another rebuilding season for Nebraska. Short of one or more of the newcomers becoming instantly high-usage and efficient, this offense will struggle to eclipse a point per possession in conference play, and a defense that has exactly one player taller than 6-8 does not project to be good enough to overcome that.

In other words, we need at least one of Gill, Roby, Horne, Jordy, or Taylor to score at the same efficiency and rate as White.  A lot of us think that will happen; what's the probability it will?

KNTK - Morning Take:    Nebrasketball scrimmage tonight at 5:30, what are your expectations for the team?

(7:39)

Reports say they held a lead with 5 minutes to go vs. Iowa State over the weekend before losing, and Tai Webster/Glynn Watson played well, and Jordy Tshimanga did, too

Any chance of a surprise this year?

This is where dimes stops reading:

"The Cornhuskers lost seven players from last year’s roster, two by graduation and five by transfer. That’s right — five."

The part where walk-ons leaving is considered a big deal.

Technically, Andrew White is 'lost' due to graduation. If he hadn't graduated, he wouldn't have left.

Nebraska has much to improve on this season and they need something to spark new hope in Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Grammatical errors abound, but at least he spelled Tai Webster's name correctly.

So, looks like icedragon finally got hired on as a writer somewhere.  I guess his aspirations were not all that unrealistic.
