Reason #5: Nobody Likes That "One Guy" In Your School Project Group

Anyone that has gone to college knows who that "One Guy" is. You're in a group of about five people and four of you do all the work, show up for all the meetings and deal with all the stress. Then, that One Guy shows up for the big presentation reading off the notes his team members put together for him and receives the same grade as you.

For those that root for Nebraska 365 days a year, that's what it's like dealing with Jayskers. The year-round fans have to deal with all the heartache that you will inevitably experience when you root for an entire university all year. You shouldn't be surprised when these fans have at least a little resentment towards the flip-flopping Huskers/Jays fans.

I do have to admit though, that I do feel some sort of satisfaction when the Jays basketball fans have to come crawling back to the Big Red once their season ends.

I think Lee nailed it on the head this morning.  Especially regarding what is going on in the player's minds right now.

Internet experts tell me the problem is big heads from too much preseason praise.

I think the opposite is true. These players want to win so badly and to prove last year wasn’t a fluke that they appear paralyzed in fear of making mistakes and disappointing the fans.

Lee Barfknecht has an article this morning on Walter Pitchford titled "Miles’ pitch to Pitchford: Play more like Rodman":

http://m.omaha.com/huskers/miles-pitch-to-pitchford-play-more-like-rodman/article_e6a55abc-347a-5dce-8aaf-f8e931430916.html?mode=jqm

Here is a blurb from the article:

Here are statistics comparing Pitchford’s past five games in Rodman-mode to his first seven:

Scoring: 9.8 to 5.9. Rebounding: 6.8 to 2.9. Field-goal shooting: 39.5 percent to 27 percent. Three-point shooting: 37.5 percent to 28 percent.

#Top10Thursday: Most disappointing teams - ESPN

7. Nebraska Cornhuskers

The Cornhuskers (No. 108 in BPI) were ranked in the preseason after last year's run to the Big Dance, the program's first since 1998. Things looked good this offseason, and then a mediocre offense got worse (259th in adjusted offensive efficiency per Ken Pomeroy). And they're committing turnovers on 21 percent of their possessions. NBA prospect Terran Petteway is committing 3.8 turnovers per game.

Cough, cough... I'm sure ESPN does ample research to prove something after a 1/2 season... shoot, last year's NU team was at a 9-9 record 60% of the way through the season! Oh well, it's publicity, no matter the form! ;)
